Yatzy is a dice game, developed by the Krystanix people. Even when you’ll be playing dice virtually, this game will give you emotions pretty much the same of those of playing dice in the real life. Specifically, the image of the dices is very realistic. It’s not so its behavior though.
This new edition of Yatzy offers two different game modes:
- Yatzy: In Yatzy you throw five dice up to three times and try to score as many points as possible in 13 different categories.
- Maxi Yatzy: Maxi Yatzy is played with six dice and additional categories to put points in. Most importantly, unused throws in one round will be saved for later rounds.
You can play both game modes either in Solitaire or Against Opponents. In Solitaire mode you play alone. In this mode you will be trying to beat the highest score. In Against Opponents you can play against up to three friends or computer opponents.
The categories in which you can put points every time you throw the dice are the following:
1. Ones
2. Twos
3. Threes
4. Fours
5. Fives
6. Sixes
7. Three of a Kind
8. Four of a Kind
9. Full House
10. Small Straight
11. Large Straight
12. Chance
13. Yatzy
In Maxi Yatzy some categories add to the previously mentioned. These new categories are the following:
1. One Pair
2. Two Pairs
3. Three Pairs
4. Five of a Kind
5. Cabin
6. House
7. Tower
8. Maxi Yatzy
When you first enter the game, you’ll get to the main menu with the following options on it:
- Change Player: from here you can add, delete, edit, and select profiles in the database.
- Play: this leads you to a submenu from where you choose the game type to play. The options are the following: Yatzy, and Maxi Yatzy. Then you can choose between playing solitaire of against opponents.
- Options: from here you can configure some game parameters such as: sound and music volume, full screen, among others.
- High Scores: to view the best performances achieved.
- Exit: to close the application.
You can try this game for 60 minutes before you buy the licensed version. If you like it, you can buy this game for only 19.95 dollars, right from the Kristanix Games site on the Web.
